Colossi Divination Guide: High XP, Routes & Rewards
Colossi Divination: the Memory Stone loop, all seven mural routes, Stonevein amulet, remnant energy and forgotten paintings.
Start at Divine Fall
Colossi Divination is an active Divination activity in Havenhythe. You gather memories at Divine Fall, carry a charged Memory Stone to an assigned mural, deposit the memories, then return to start again. The loop gives Divination XP while gathering and a larger Divination XP drop plus some Agility XP at the mural. It also builds up mural restoration progress and produces remnant energy.
You need 77 Divination and enough progress in Heralds of Crimson to reach Divine Fall, east of Heathervein. Speak to Aurriel there for an uncharged Memory Stone.
Set up before the first stone
Repair the canoe stations you can use before starting. The full network needs 80 Construction, but the earlier stations have lower requirements. Several mural routes are close to canoe stops, and the canoes remain available while the stone is charged.
Bring Surge and Dive. Double Surge gives another Surge charge, while Mobile or Shadow's Grace shortens movement-ability cooldowns. These are useful on every route because a charged Memory Stone blocks teleports. The restriction only applies while the stone is charged: after you deposit at a mural, you can teleport back to Divine Fall before gathering the next load.
Two routes pass ravenous strigoi in Shuruk-Ba. They use Magic, so Protect from Magic or Deflect Magic is useful while running through. Bring some food and use Surge and Dive to get past them quickly.
Gather, locate, deposit, return
Start at the colossus remnant beside Divine Fall and gather memories until the Memory Stone is full. The stone attunes to one of seven murals. Use its Locate option to face your character toward the destination, then travel there without teleporting.
Deposit the memories at the attuned mural for a larger Divination XP drop, Agility XP, and 1,000 to 1,400 remnant energy. A deposit can also award the next forgotten painting piece.
Your first seven charged stones send you to each mural once. After that, the destination becomes random and completed murals can come up again. That means the first circuit teaches the routes, but it does not finish every mural by itself.
The seven mural routes
The routes are easier to remember as a south pair, one Heathervein route, and four canoe routes.
- Unicorn: Run south from Divine Fall. The mural is just south of the entrance to Shuruk-Ba.
- Bat: Enter Shuruk-Ba, follow the northern path east toward the Crimson Gate, then continue south. This is one of the routes where the strigoi protection is useful.
- Wolf: Head to Heathervein using the Agility shortcut from Divine Fall or the canoe. Run southwest and follow the outside of the Exalted Quarry west to the mural.
- Fox: Take the canoe to Linbog Village, then run south to the southern edge of Fenmoor, west of Globin Village.
- Spider: Take the canoe to Wendlewick Farm and run north to the hill above Hollow Hill, near the material cache area where Tali is first met.
- Tree: Take the canoe to Amberfell, climb over the barricade, then run east. The mural is west of Berylbrook.
- Millipede: Use the Wendlewick Grotto canoe stop, cross the stepping stones, then head west. The mural is southwest of the Shrine of Inanna.
Choosing a route to the mural
Use Locate when the stone attunes, then choose a direct run, an Agility shortcut or the nearest canoe stop for that mural.
Watch for strigoi on the southern routes through Shuruk-Ba. For the other five, head to Heathervein for Wolf or the canoe stops listed above for Fox, Spider, Tree and Millipede.
Stonevein amulet and mural restoration
Aurriel gives you the Stonevein amulet after 10 mural deposits. It starts with 10 charges and can teleport you to Divine Fall. Each recharge costs 25 remnant energy, so it is worth keeping some energy aside if you want the return trip to stay quick.
Fully restoring a mural unlocks its destination on the Stonevein amulet. Check the amulet to see which mural teleports you have unlocked. It cannot bypass the charged-stone restriction, so use it after depositing to return to Divine Fall rather than trying to skip the assigned journey.
Every deposit reveals more of a mural's story and advances its restoration. The completed-mural destinations can still be assigned, so track the murals that still need work in the achievements tab. Fully restoring all seven completes Fates of the Colossi, which is a Master Quest Cape requirement.
Remnant energy and gathering equipment
Remnant energy is tradeable. You can sell it, use it with crimson ichor for the Sanguine Offering, Vampyric Slayer and Vital Drain ability codices, convert it to other divine energies, or spend it on Stonevein amulet charges.
For the gathering step, the Elder Divination outfit increases memory-gathering speed and boosts XP. An energy-gathering scrimshaw, including the superior version, also helps charge the stone faster. Divination urns work here too. Grace of the Elves, Brooch of the Gods and Scripture of Bik can activate while gathering if they are already part of your skilling setup.
Forgotten paintings and caskets
Forgotten painting pieces are another deposit reward. There are five pieces, obtained in order through several Havenhythe activities including Colossi Divination. Combine all five into a forgotten painting, inspect it for the Havenhythe location it shows, then use the Dig option at the matching spot. The painting is consumed and you receive a forgotten casket to open.
